Derby Pursuit of Callum Brittain Expected to Fail

Blackburn Rovers are in advanced negotiations to extend the contract of standout full-back Callum Brittain, aiming to secure his services beyond the summer of 2026.

Brittain, 27, has been a key figure since joining from Barnsley in 2022, where he enjoyed a successful spell under current manager Valérien Ismaël.
Brittain’s current deal expires in summer 2026, leaving Blackburn at risk of losing him on a free next year. Derby County have enquired about this full back, but it is understood that a contract extension is close to being agreed to keep him at Ewood Park.
Extending his contract has been a key task for Rudy Gestede, who is leading on all signings and new contracts this summer, with a successful outcome seemingly close.
The club are also in talks with Lewis Travis about a new deal, who is a target of several Championship clubs.
Derby are one of the clubs linked with Travis, although this isn't seen to be more than a rumour for now.
However, The Rams have already snapped up manager John Eustace from Blackburn, as well as Andi Weimann and Danny Batth - and they're also now targeting former Blackburn attacker Tyrhys Dolan.
Interesting times between the two clubs...
